History :
In 1680, the army erected a building on Daume island,
named Tourville fort. From being a military garison,
the fort became a private nideway at the beginning
of the last century under the impetus of Andre Laval ,
a rich industrialist who bought the island
to shelter his affair with Liane Degaby.
This beauty, who he was madly in love with,
is known in the capital for her talents
as a dancer in revues.Together, they fancifully
decorated the placeand amassed works of out
and held sumptuous receptions.
